CHAT NOIR — вероятно, одна из наиболее интересных реалий итальянской джазовой сцены. Проект был начат в 2001 Luca Fogagnolo (бас-гитара и контрабас) и Michaele Cavallari (фортепиано), в октябре 2002 года дуэт стал трио с приходом барабанщика Giuliano Ferrari. Музыканты, вдохновленные творчеством Esbjörn Svensson, Bobo Stenson, в 2004 году записывают свой дебютный альбом «Adoration» на лэйбле Splasch, который с энтузиазмом воспринимается музыкальными критикам и тема из альбома - Noir 451, становится частью саундтрека к фильму Кристины Коменчини La bestia nel cuore. Успех первого релиза, приносит группе контракт с Universal Мusic Italy, в результате которого в 2006 году появляется альбом «Decoupage», а за тем и «Difficult To See You» в 2008 году,в этих работах очень заметно влияние скандинавского Esbjörn Svensson Trio и американцев Bad Plus, а некоторые джазовые издания объявили это итальянское трио «Пинк Флойдом» от джаза и тому есть действительное подтверждение - темы легендарной группы-звучат просто потрясающе в концертах Chat Noir Performing The Wall.
Четвертый альбом этого итальянского трио Weather Forecasting Stone вышел в 2011 году и повествует о магическом камне прогноза погоды. Собственно и сами композиции построены в таком ключе, что слушаются на одном дыхании, электро-акустическое звучание коллектива не далеко уходит от канонов традиционного джаза. Магия этого альбома просто не передаваемая.
