Total: 55:00'A quasi tre anni dal precedente, viene finalmente alla luce il sesto CD dei Corde Oblique di Riccardo Prencipe. Ascoltandolo si comprende che l'attesa è dovuta alla cura meticolosa di ogni dettaglio, di sonorità che pur differendo possono essere raggruppate in un insieme coerente. Il trait d'union che lega i pezzi di questo album è rappresentato dai colori con ogni brano cerca di rappresentarne uno. Ci sono anche molti "guest artist" eccellenti, come Denitza Seraphimova, che molti nostri lettori conoscono come cantante degli Irfan, gli Argine, o altri musicisti che hanno registrato importanti colonne sonore.
"Suono su tela" è uno strumentale intenso in cui la fanno da padrone chitarra e violino, con la batteria che pare scandire i passaggi fondamentali: è il pezzo che i nostri hanno selezionato per uno splendido video, in cui i danzatori sembrano seguire la chitarra ed una foglia bianca volteggia nell'aria, forse come metafora della vita umana.
"I sassi di Matera" è un pezzo lento, narrativo, al cui la voce di Denitza conferisce una potente aura mistica.
"Violet Nolde" ha una scarna chitarra elettrica minimale che ricorda i Radiohead di "Karma Police" e viene a tratti accompagnata da fiati e violino, oltre che dalla batteria.
"Il cretto nero" è cantata da Caterina Pontrandolfo con un'enfasi teatrale: la musica è una specie di colonna sonora che dona l'enfasi emotiva del sud a questi caldi frammenti di vita.
"Giallo dolmen" è aperta da uno strumento a fiato, il flauto di Pan, che evoca suggestioni sciamaniche, accentuate dal tintinnio dei campanelli sullo sfondo. La chitarra che entra in seguito sembra voler ritmare le fasi di un rituale antico, che si esplicita nel canto ipnotico finale.
"Amara terra mia" è una versione quasi solo vocale, interpretata con classe ed enfasi da Annalisa Madonna, del classico di Modugno dedicato al Sud, sempre caro ed in primo piano nel lavoro di Riccardo ed i suoi compagni.
"Papavero e memoria" è una specie di flamenco, rallentato per renderlo introspettivo, effetto amplificato dal finale con il contrabbasso in risalto.
"A fondo oro" affonda le radici nel folklore italiano, nei ritmi della Taranta contaminati dalla voce di Annalisa che ricorda lo stile di canto popolare sardo.
In "Rosa d'Asia" la voce di Annalisa brilla in tutto il suo splendore, accompagnata dalle note lente e ricercate di Riccardo e da un violoncello, in una canzone piena di romanticismo, fascino e decadenza.
Ne "L'urlo Rosso" è presente una favolosa sezione d'archi che interpreta meravigliosamente lo struggimento malinconico della melodia: il rosso del titolo pare quello del crepuscolo che pone fine ad un giorno denso di emozioni che si faranno ricordare.
In "Blu regale" si può ammirare appieno il virtuosismo di Riccardo alla chitarra in un altro pezzo lento, dove ogni singola nota, ogni singolo accordo disegna un particolare nel quadro dell'atmosfera.
In "Blubosforo" la voce arcana di Denitza, che pare cantare dei semplici vocalizzi, suggerisce un'aura di fascino esotico, misterioso ed impenetrabile.
Ne "L'occhio bianco" il riflettore è puntato sul pianoforte: l'emotività e l'intimismo sono enfatizzati dal violino e dalla tromba, che suonano come dei preziosi intarsi sulla melodia principale.
Il lavoro è chiuso da una ghost track con una batteria pesantemente rock… forse a rappresentare la forza della passione con cui questo lavoro è stato concepito.
Si tratta di un lavoro raffinato, fuori dagli schemi e da qualsiasi genere: arte, che non ha per referenza altro che l'ispirazione di chi la crea.'
